My idol

"Never eat more than you can lift."

- Miss Piggy

She also says:

"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and it may be necessary from time to time to give a stupid or misinformed beholder a black eye. "
Oh yes....A great lady OK!

Hey, folks, this little fella is Big Ben from the USA. A couple of weeks ago he got a reprieve from Death Row when a nice lady from the Humane Society saw his plight and called up her good friends at “fortheloveofcats” I don’t knows how he got into that predicament, but Mary Ellen saw his pic and fell in love with him. However, she was 800 kms away and so there was a lot discussion as to how to get him there and eventually they were able get him a hitch with someone who was going that way. About five days, Big Ben (who doesn’t look so big to me), joined his new family Samson, Angel and Jake///and of course, Mary Ellen. The Humane Society does such good work in caring for animals and often we don’t see just how much work is done behind the scenes. Gussy salutes the Humane Society, which works tirelessly to save as many animal as they can.

Some wise words

The naming of cats is a difficult matter. It isn't just one of your holiday games. You may think at first I'm mad as a hatter. When I tell you a cat must have three different names... - T.S. Eliot

My Human

It’s true; I live in a palace full of amazing things. Well….Yes…Did you know, we have a Queen chair in our living room? Yes, it is gold, with a carved back and legs. .Now, my human says that this chair is very special and that I have to be careful not to scratch or claw it. Oh, sure, I do understand her. In fact, I am certain that I know her better than she knows herself. She’s disabled you know. That’s right. She gets round with a walking frame and she is slow to get some things done. But it never worries me. I just go about my business and let her get on with it. If she needs me to move out of her way, she has to let me know. I’m not a mind reader, OK... I don’t believe in pandering to humans. They are there for MY benefit, not the other way round. Then again, we are intrinsically bound together by the need to belong. That is, she is MY human and I am HER Gussy.

Gidday Mateys

Hi, my name is Gorgeous Gussy, a very handsome pussycat, superior to everyone in my neighbourhood and beyond. Humans are always commenting on my unique appearance. I look like a majestic Asian tiger. Indeed one of our human neighbours calls me Tiger. What's more, I don’t purr. Why should I? There should be no need for me to perform to get attention. For goodness sake, I’m not in a circus. I just…AM…and am destined to be admired. Still, when I do require the close attention of my human, I meow and cuddle up close, so that she knows that I am speaking to her. Sometimes I just talk to get noticed. At other times it is to get food. At night, I call to her and she calls back to me from the bedroom, where she sits and does her knitting.. Then I go and lay next to her on the bed and go to sleep. But if at any time she gets up, perhaps to go and make coffee or to get something to eat, I follow her, staying right by her side, following her from room to room. This is the time that I really need to be there, OK.
